Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Op-Ed: Andrew Tate, Joe Rogan and the 'manosphere' show misogyny is mainstream

The “manosphere” is having a moment, but you might not be aware of its place in President Trump’s reelection, or its existence for that matter.

The manosphere encompasses a decades-long effort by an increasing number of men who feel aggrieved by feminism, women’s rights and gender equality. The modern manosphere began in the early 2000s when the pre-internet men’s rights activism went online. These early groups were largely concerned with the idea that fathers were discriminated against in court regarding custody and alimony, and false rape accusations (a phenomenon that does not exist in any systematic way). Then, as the internet grew and transformed, so did the manosphere. New subgroups emerged with their own priorities, yet all united in their belief that men are subjugated and oppressed in contemporary society.

The manosphere call this oppression the ‘gynocracy’.
